my 96 T/A has a nasty cough/sputter, almost like its missing sound and feel to it when i try to accellerate any at all except for the "just resting the foot on the pedal" accel. it only occurs at low RPM's, like under 2500. if im over that, it runs perfectly fine. I read some other posts on here and seems one guy fixed it with changing his plugs and wires, which i will do tommarrow, and my mechanic said to run some fuel injector cleaner in it on the next tank of gas, which im running through it now. I have also changed to oil recently, which suprisingly seemed to help a little bit.

Has anyone else experienced this? How did you fix it? Whats wrong? Any tips or thoughts on what you guys think it could be and what I need to change out or do?

its a 96 no one will touch it out of principal... there is a 4th gen board that could help you better anyway

 

but you dont have any ideas on what it could be? all im looking for are suggestions...comments..anything.

 

well look at plugs and replace as needed and wires... and it is always good to look at the condition of the opti spark junks
