Just got my 1992 350 back from the machine shop all shiny and clean. The guy did find that the 193 heads were cracked. Now I'm trying to find out if my current LB9 heads would work with this cam

COMP CAMS Xtreme Energy

Lobe Separation (degrees): 112
Intake Valve Lash: 0.000 in.
Exhaust Valve Lash: 0.000 in.
Computer Controlled Compatible: No
Grind Number: CS XR264HR-12

I plan on using the stock lifters and the stock TPI setup from my LB9. I will set up the fuel pressure to 49lbs and run the 19lbs injectors for now. Also putting on a set of Hedman shorties.

I've done a ton of searches and found no definitive answers.

My question is this. If I run the following parts, how will it run?

1992 SBC 350 from a caprice, standard bore and bottom end
LB9 Heads--stock
shorty headers
49lbs fuel pressure with stock TPI and 19lbs injectors
cam listed above
MSD 6 box and coil
MSD super conductor wires
no cat
stock LB9 computer

Just trying to get by cheaply to keep the wife off my a$$

Any suggestions are appreciated and welcome

You're going to run into problems here.

If you're on a budget, forget the MSD stuff. It won't give you any benefit.

I agree. Forget the MSD stuff and put that money into the heads. I believe the LB9 heads will raise the compression to high. You should be able to find some decent 64cc iron heads cheap enough.

You'll also have trouble there. Bumping the fuel pressure won't really work.

You can pick up used injectors on eBay all day long, for less than $50 a set.

That cam will work fine for the application at hand, even though it's not listed as "computer compatible". It actually is, in my personal experience, even in a 305.

The LB9 heads will work fine.

I agree about the MSD stuff; HUGE waste of $$$$ there. Also, use Taylor wires; just as good if not better, and there's no point in paying the extra cover charge for the MSD name.

Re: Head-ache for my 350?
The guys at Summit told me this would work. Any suggestions?
I already had the MSD stuff and its now on the 305TPI
----------
Summit tech said around 9.9 compression ratio with the LB9 heads
