Rev limit or ignition problem very fustrated help plz

Basically the car is running decent from idle-3k however once I hit 3700 rpm she stops as if theirs a rpm limiter, now ive heard rummers theirs rpm limits set in the msd distributer which if their is I cant find it. Ive also questioned myself if I should get a 6al box and maybe that would solve my problem? Just need some input this is driving me nuts b/c everything on the car is basically new and the engine has about 100 miles on her and has yet run good enough to be able to run on the road due to this problem

EDIT: Was just trying to log some data and held it at around 3700 rpms where it sounds as if the rev limit kicks in and seems im having some heat issues when this happens, for the wires had cought on fire at the spark plugs and had to be put out fast ;-) coolant temp by the way was only around 190

The stock ignition system should be good enough to get you to the upper 4K range.

How is the valve timing?

I had that problem at the track ones. I forgot to reconnect the brown wire when I re-time the car. With a timing light check and see how much the time is advance when you rev the engine.
