the worst sound ever
I just converted to a roller cam and roller rockers.
I used the comp cams retro stlye roller lifters, hardened push rods with guide plates.
my valve train is so noisy I can hear it over the loud exhaust.
lots of squeeking sound and rattle.
anybody experience this?
anybody have a remedy?
thx
jeff

Re: the worst sound ever
what arrow???????
the lifters will only fit with the links facing towards the center of the block.
I somehow suspect they are the culprit of the noise.
I do appreciate any and all feedback!
thank you

Re: the worst sound ever
What cam?
What valve springs?
What rockers?
If the heads have the tight holes for guiding the push rods, were they drilled out?
Where is the noise coming from? Front, rear? top, bottom? Middle, one side, both sides?
When you took it back apart and inspected all the parts carefully for unusual wear, what did you see? Any strange marks on the push rods or the bottom of the retainers? Any chunks of valve guide seal mysteriously appear running around in the rocker galleries?

Re: the worst sound ever
i think they have an arrow on the link bar to signify which way is up on the link bar and the bar can only go towards the center of the valley
they probably wouldnt be so specific if it didnt really matter which way was up

Re: the worst sound ever
When you figure it out, let me know - I've had the same issue since I put a ZZ9 and Comp hyd roller lifters in. I have enough clatter in my valvetrain to make a diesel blush.
