Hello,Everyone I recently brought a 1987 "5.7"TPI I-Roc-Z28 I ran the vin number and it says 5.7 but I went on ebay and a couple of other sites to compare my engine to others and I think that I might have a 305tpi.reason being is that my a/c compressor is on my driver side and the alternator is on the right and i'm really confused;some other 5.7 is like that and then others everything that i just stated is on the other side like a/c compressor is now on the left and the alternator is on the right please someone help me tell the different.oh yeah the cluster says 145mph I know that can be changed but i thought that i would add that

You have a 350, there's no magic trick to tell what your engine is besides looking at the block casting numbers on the back of the block beside the distributor. If it's never been taken out and you have the vin for it it's a 350. 305's and 350's ran the exact same belt setup, they changed it by year, up to 87 was V belts, 87 was a weird combination of the 2 with one serpentine and a few V's 88 went to straight up serpentine.
