i think my wife found a winner. im currently deployed to iraq but last december my wife found a 1992 Z28 with less than 35,000 miles. ive got some pics posted below. we got it for $4000 ... when she got this for me i really didnt know what to think because i never got a chance to check it out.. but when i took leave and went home i got a chance to do that .. it drove really good. the only problems there were .. was .. the fuel guage doesnt work and the hydralic arms for the hood an trunk dont work and it need a turn up. so what do you guys think.. did i get a good deal?

Your wife did you right. That is a very nice car and the price was right. Heck it is almost like brand new.

Hmmmmm..... I could be wrong, but that gauge cluster looks like its out of an RS (110 mph cluster). I thought all Z28s got the 145 mph cluster. Hopefully someone didn't take you for a ride....

I know the 91s are notorious for the tach going bonkers, so I would assume it to be the same on the 92s, so it is not rare for the gauge clusters to have been replaced. Best way to figure it out is just over time, seeing what parts wear out and at how many miles. That and looking closely at wear and tear on the seats, carpet, steering when, etc. But that, of course, is a judgement call. But regardless, $4k for a 92 in good shape isn't a bad deal, even if it has 110k on it. Now if it had like 180k or 200k, I expect that the interior would not look that good.
