choppy idle

so i got this choppy idle, it normally wouldnt be a problem except now its throwing off my lockup on highway speeds. i cant pull codes cuz the light is burnt out, but i can tell you my TPS is good and my o2 sensor is reading correctly and my MAF sensor is fine as well. so without any more info, can somebody maybe throw an idea into the pot? and EGR valve issue? electronics? i need an idea.

Re: choppy idle

Check the MAP or VAC voltages....5v in for reference and output to the computer should be ....say 1.5-4.5v depending on the pressure or vacuum. I had a problem with the TCC after a cam change and had vac issues.

Re: choppy idle

You do anything to the car lately?
I'd guess a plug wire is loose or broken.

Re: choppy idle

i had the same problem and recently replaced my EGR valve on a tuned port motor. not only did it bring my noX levels down for emissions but it also cured choppy idle, bucking when stopping and almost dying while braking
