Re: High mileage 5.0 add a GTA ?????????????

I gotta have a 2nd car... If for nothing else - when I have one apart, I'm never pressed to get an only car up and running. I'd say 99.9% of any work I might do - that I'm not happy with is when I'm in a rush.

Of course, my 2nd car is a 4 banger Saturn - but heck... I wouldn't be opposed to having another 3rd gen either.... I have to admit, the Saturn's great on gas - but it also has manual steering, manual brakes, 5 speed, manual windows, manual locks - only option really is AC - not much to break on it.

If you have the room and the insurance company won't gouge you too bad, I'd go for it. If you want to pull the motor, trans, shine up the read end... well you have another to drive for parts, work, etc.

I'm not sure on the 91's - but there's Megasquirt along with other options on dealing with 'computer' problems. The electric fans on my '88 don't come on at all right now, lol - as long as I'm moving it's non-issue.

And if you do have a second car, heck - does it matter if there's an issue or two? Just an excuse to work on it and put in some new stuff~

Unless room or cost is a real obstacle, I can't see why it would be a bad idea.
