Hello my 1989 camaro rs exhaust manifold makes a weird sound like if it was ripped or something it seems like if air was comin out of the exhaust manifold but i dont know someone told me that i could fix that by tighting the exhaust manifold bolts but i dont know how to do that or wat bolts to tighten so if any oneknows what it can be can u please tell me thanks

 

well you either blew a manifold gasket or cracked the manifold... you can try tightening the manifold bolts theres 6 of them along the side of the manifold... easy way to check though is to take soapy water with lots of bubbles and pour it over the manifold when it`s running but still cold, you should see bubbles where the leak is.

 

should be pretty obvious if theres a leak

will be black carbon


if not then try a hollow pipe and your ear, listen around


leaking exhaust can be anything from a little tick sound, to full blown leaking noise

depending on how bad it is


ive seen them all, leaking gaskets, blown out donut seal, cracked manifold, etc
