cant get my car to turn over

alright so i at first thought that my problem was my ignition switch, replaced that now i get power to the car again......BUT it will not start wont even go to the start spot, the problem has to be with the ignition lock cylinder , right? also when the car does get power for some reason when the gauges go to zero out, the are all off reads like 20 mph and like 3k rpm and what not why is that? how can i fix it?

Re: cant get my car to turn over

Did you check to see if the steering wheel was binding it up? (as if the wheel was cut all the way to the right or left?) Did you jump the wires to the starter to see if it would start? Jack the car and support it, make sure it is in park and touch the two bolts holding the wires on the starter with a screwdriver to see if the engine will turn over. Be very careful when doing this... Just a starting point.
