Any ideas for another vaccum source?
This may sound stupid but I'm wondering if anyone has another idea... I need another vaccum source for my pcv valve. I'm running an edelbrock proformer and a holley 650 dp. The only usable vaccum source I have is the one at the back of the carb and when I tee it off there isnt enough vaccum for both the pcv valve and the brake booster. The port at the rear of the intake is plugged and blocked by the secondary fuel bowl/metering block so it's unusable unless I use a carb spacer but hood clearance IS a major issue here.. should I just drill and tap another hole elsewhere on the intake and run the pcv to there? Basically I just don't feel like pulling the intake off again and I'm looking for a way around it and I don't think there is if I'm forced to tap another hole.. any ideas??

tap into the air cleaner for the pcv and run your brakes from the 3/8ths vacuum port. not optimal, but it'll work.

Drill and tap another location on the intake for the brakes, or use a spacer.

Yeah, you gotta love the fact that Edelcrock conveniently puts the damn vacuum fitting in a place where you can't use it when running one of the most popular perfomance carbs on the planet. Had the same problem on my brother's motor. Of course the vacuum fittings on the performer intake work just fine when running an Edelcrock carb, but who wants to use one of those crappy carbs?
If you do end up removing the intake manifold again down the road, do yourself a favor and replace it with a Weiand Stealth intake. They're setup great for use with a Holley carb since Holley owns the Weiand brand.
That's the intake we ended up using on my brother's car after he got tired of running a spacer plate. The Edelcrock intake is collecting dust until we get around to listing it on fleabay.
