CONNECTING ROD ??

CONNECTING ROD ??

after i had my rods separated from my pistons i noticed that one side was tapered at the top.iwas wondering witch side(inside, outside) of the motor is it supposed to face?

On the inside where the bearing shells rest against you will find 2 notches- on on the rod, one on the bearing cap. Those notches both need to be on the same side when you assemble the rod (not opposite eachother) AND point towards the oil pan rail of whatever cylinder bank you have that rod installed on. Left side pistons/rods the tabs point towards the left side pan rail, right side pistons/rods the tabs point towards the right side pan rail.
