is this a good car to get?

I am very interested in this car but im not sure if it is something worth getting.http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...ag=1&cardist=6
I am a little concerned about the mileage but I test drove it and it seems to run just fine. It was pretty loud and sounded good to and i was told that it had stock exhaust. The price seems a bit high too. I also wanted ttops but its so hard to find a good third gen around here. Is not having ttops a big disappointment? It also has no sound system either. It seemed like the car needed a little work and I plan fixing it up and suping it up to. Is this car a Piece of junk or will it last me awhile without having any major problems? Sorry if this is the wrong place for this but I wasn't sure where else to put it.

that my friend is a very rare find '92 Z28 350ci wow. if you can get it buy it, '92 Z28s are worth the money, but if you look harder try to find a heritage edition. hard tops are pretty much all you can get that car, they say T-tops wasn't an option for the 350 z28 but some leaked out w/ T-top with a 350. excellent condition from the pics. interior and exterior are awesome. 130k is pretty good for a 15 year old car.

Rare? Why would you call that rare?

The car LOOKS to be in decent shape. You're not going to be able to get very useable opinions from a board. It needs to be checked out in person.

The price, just from the pictures, is just a little on the high side.

im mostly worried about it crapping out with those miles on it. But my question is do these motors go for a long time and do i have anything to worry about when buying a car with this many miles? Im sure from experience you guys would know how long these things last. When i checked it out everything seemed in perfect running order. I didnt hear any weird noises or see anything bad except for the hood shocks were not able to hold the hood up anymore.

Re: is this a good car to get?

Depends on how well it was cared for. Any engine will last an extremely long time with proper care. I wouldn't worry much about mileage if it runs fine. Bring someone along who can really go over the car if you're not sure of everything to look for.
If you find nothing wrong......use the mileage to your advantage.

130k miles? Uhh, that's very LOW mileage. It's a 15 year old car!
Around my neck of the woods that car would sell for $13,000. Well, it'd be advertised at around that range, maybe someone would get it for $11,000.
$5k is a joke. I'd grab that if I was in that area.

i got this off of camarosource.ca this is for 1992 Camaro
"Model-year sales were 64,444 units. Calendar-year sales were 54,383. Model-year production included 66,191 coupes and 3,816 convertibles for a total of 70,007.

The Van Nuys, California, plant built all of these cars (and all 27,566 Firebirds). Of the Camaro's built, 79.7% had automatic transmission, 20.3% had a 5-speed manual transmission, 34.1% were equipped with a 3.1-liter fuel-injected V6 engine, 61.6% were equipped with a 5.0-liter TBI V8 engine, and 4.3% were equipped with a 5.7-liter TPI V8 engine."

there wasn't very many camaros sold in 1992 because everyone wanted the '93 camaro. 350 TPI is a good engine i doubt it will take a **** on you while driving it back if you say its runs good. did you drive it? hows it shift? thats what question I would ask, how clean is it under the car, any rust? If you buy it and you have troubles, the guys here at TGO will be happy to help you out

Do you have access to total production units on a 92 5.7 GTA? I know total 92 GTA's is 508 but I don't know the total production on the 350.

I also heard everybody was waiting for the 93+ birds and camaros. I had a blast with my 95 TA.

this will help you https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/faq-...50-t-tops.html

if you want T-tops you probably need to look for a car with a 305 engine. i know how you feel i have a hard top too. i wanted them too but you dont always get want you want :P. except that car is set 350 TPI 240hp and 330ft/lbs (correct me if i'm wrong plz). vs my red RS that has the 3.1L V6.

Viprklr, you have a very rare car. The actual numbers for the 92 GTA, are 226 in the U.S. and 48 in Canada. 144 GTA's came with a 350. Be easy on that GTA it's a rare bird.

i really dont want a 305 unless its a 5 speed and ttops but that will be like finding gold around here. and i believe the 92 350tpi had 245hp and 345ft/lbs

Thank you for that information. 508 units put a smile on my face but 144 makes it even bigger.
