tranny loses power at wot
tranny loses power at wot
if i floor it it will take off fast then suddenly it loses power thru the tranny and the rpm goes up, but if i let off the gas slightly the tranny catchs again.
i think it might be the kickdown cable or t.v. cable whatever its called. anyone have this problem or know what it is?

Welcome to thirdgen.org.
Can we assume you have a V8? Any modifications?
Is the fluid level up where it should be? Has the transmission been serviced (fluid, filter change)?

There is only one proper way to adjust the TV cable - Push down on the release button where the cable attaches to the bracket on the intake manifold and pull the cable housing to the rear of the car; let go of the release button, floor the accelerator and let the housing click forward. That's it.
If the transmission hasn't been serviced, change the filter and fluid.
If after those two things you still have the problem, your tranny is probably on its way out.
