code 45 and no idle

help? so my 3.1 engine will not idle. to start you need to floor, but it runs smooth(ish) until the accelerator is let go. a slight touch will keep it at 1500rpm smooth. yesterday the car was simply a no show whatsoever, and it turned out there was a crack on the underside of the egr pipe. thats been replaced. the computer now shows a code 45 meaning im running rich. any ideas?

*using ohmeter, tps moves linearly through scale
*compression in every cyllinder 115psi
*each cyllinder has spark
*timing as close to 10dbtc as i can get at this time
*new gaskets headgasket on up including valve seals on intake valves
*fuel pressure regulator replaced recently when gasoline was found in vacuum lines and even flooding the air pump with gasoline. air pump disassembled and cleaned/dried. slight slight vacuum leak coming from air pump. no idea if this is normal or not.

i have maybe a small inkling the canister purge valve is broken, as air passes freely through. but the purge valve in my parts car does the same thing. is this normal? i was under the impression these valves are closed until actuated by ecm.

thanks for any help
