Help! Spark plug broke in half stuck in head
Okay sorry to bother you guys again, but I really need advice here. I was in the process of doing plugs today and the plug that is 3rd back from the radiator on the driver side broke right off. I got the whole hex part in the socket, so only the threads and electrode remain in the head!
What can I do? I spent all my money to buy the car, so I dont have any money to pay a shop. Also, this is my only car and transportation. Thanks.\

Re: Help! Spark plug broke in half stuck in head
How the hell did u manage that one?
Sure it wasnt cross threaded to begin with?
Hmmm gonna be a pia for sure, is all the ceramic still there as well where it broke off?
Is there anything left to grab or did the threads break actually in the plug hole, meaning nothing at all sticking out....

Re: Help! Spark plug broke in half stuck in head
Thanks for the quick reply, jeremy. I managed to get it out. What happened was, the ceramic broke off in the rubber in the socket. But, I thought the 5/8 hex was in the socket too. Turns out, the nut was still on the head so a regular 5/8 socket would work now that I didnt have the tip sticking out. Only thing was I still couldnt find a good was to access it. So i ended up putting the car on stands and getting on the creeper. And it was alot easier from underneath.
Right now, I am on 5 out of 8. I still have the rear three on the passenger side. The 2nd plug from the front on the passenger side is gonna be a bitch I can tell, its right above the main crossmember. And then I might go to autozone and buy a wireset because this one is SHOT! Thanks for the help tho.
Btw, the reason I jumped to conclusions was because when I was in highschool and we learned how to do plugs we did it on a ford V8 on a motor stand. And 4/the 8 plugs actually snapped off at the threads so that they were flush with the block. The teacher had to heat the plugs red hot with the oxy torch, and take them out with a special tool that digs in to the metal core.
