HVAC hookup

HVAC hookup
My single black HVAC line from the firewall hooks up to a 3 way valve that goes to the cruise control (First picture). However the 3 way valve by my plenum is unhooked (Second picture). Should i cut my HVAC line and put it into the elbow in the second picture and run a longer cruise control hose to the plastic outlet on top of the valve? This way i can get rid of the valve by the firewall and allow the one by the plenum to be hooked up. Would this be to correct hookup or is it already set up correct?

Alright, my pictures wont load so does anybody out there with an 85 or 86 iroc have pictures of how theirs is hooked up?
