Vortec Rocker Arm Questions

Hello, I am finishing up the build on my engine and just curious on what rocker arms I should go with. I tried searching and couldn't find anything on this...what is the max lift for the stock rocker arms on a set of 906 vortec heads? I am running a comp cams xr276hr, .503/.510 lift. If these rockers don't work would a set from a ZZ4 work? Thanks!

The stock rockers probably don't have long enough slots for the lift of that cam.

ZZ4 aren't self aligning.

Comp Magnums are a pretty good bet. About $200/set, but good quality stuff. For another $130, you can't go wrong with Pro Magnum full rollers.

For stamped steel, check out summitracing.com, p/n NAL-12495490. Long slot, self-aligning. $55/set.

With that much cam, though, at least roller tip is good insurance.

I hope you are running heads that have been machined for higher lift as well

Re: Vortec Rocker Arm Questions

also if you run 1.6 rockers you must drill the pushrod holes to 1/2"

The heads have already had all that done to them, just making sure I have the correct rockers, and the ratio I am going with is 1.5, thanks again!

i'm running the long slot summit brand 1.5s that are in the circle track section, work fine for me. Although this winter it'll be getting full rollers.
