please help should i buy it?

i have a chance to buy a 88 z28 it has a 350 with a 6 speed tranny but 2nd gear is gone it will not move at all in that gear the engine runs but needs a little work also it has rear disc and t top is it worth $600 with the tranny problem is it expensive to fix thanks for any help

If the rest of the car is in decent shape and the engine has no major issues, the price sounds good. You can check on this site for used trannys, use the search option on the top of the page.

Worst case a tranny rebuild with a trans cooler will run you $1200- worst case.

the tranny shop told me it would be atleast a 1000 but probly more
