84 Camaro Vin code H
Hey all,
My buddy bought a 1984 Camaro Z28 with a V8 and 5speed. We aren't sure what engine he has except that the car is carb'd. Where my TBI powered transam has the E, his has the H. Any ideas?

the engine code h indidcates that it is a carb'd 305. i had that code in both my 85 transam and an 86 firebird that i had.

That's the LG4; the base-model V8 of its day. Pretty much the equivalent of the TBI motor in the lineup.
Sorry, but I have no ideas.

Nope, no ideas here, either. Just facts:
LG4, soda straw single exhaust with single snorkel air cleaner to match, 150 net flywheel horsepower 240 net flywheel lb-ft torque gutless CAFE wonder.
Low performance, high potential.

Ok thanks for the info. I figured it was an LG4 engine but wasn't completely sure as the 305 and 350 sorta look the same

No 350 was offered in 3rd gens until 1987, and then only with TPI.
