Engine boggs out :(

im running a 305 with TPI. when i start the car. it takes awhile to start up. longer then normal. and when it does start up. it idles ok for the 1st 5 seconds then it RMP drops real lower just about ready to stall and then it just pickes up to normal idle RMP. does that 1 or 2 times. and when i try drive it. you gotta take it to like 3000 rmp and like ride the clutch just so it wont stall, and when you get it going. and you just step on the gas. (floor it) it spudders like its not getting enough gas. but it runs great once the engine warms up pretty good.

whats the problem!

i changed the plugs to bosh platnum +4 and new wires. didnt help much.
i changed the sensor that is on the front of the intake. not to sure what that one is called i forget at the moment.

but it still bogs out! its frusterating to no end.
would it be the injectors?

Re: Engine boggs out :(

I have a 305 tpi 5 speed that had the same problem when I started the car. The first thing I did was change the plugs wires and cap and rotor no difference. Then I put a fuel pressure gauge on the rail and ran the pump with the car off. If the pressure drops that means your injectors are leaking down when you shut your car off and next time you start it the cylinder is flooded causing it to idle like **** for a while. I replaced my injectors and it solved the problem, but now my maf took a crap on me this year so its back to a shitty idle again.
