87 Z wont start

Engine: 355 TPI
Transmission: JUNK
Axle/Gears: 3.73
87 Z wont start
Once the car is started with ether, It runs almost Excellent. If my injectors were not firing , shouldnt it run rough? Also I think its a 305 but how can you tell, it might be a 350

One easy way to get a good idea if it is a 305 or a 350 is to pull a valve cover and take the casting number off of the inside of the cylinder head. That's assuming that the heads were not changed.
