Positive battery cable part number whack-a-mole.
Does it make any sense that 1990 and 1992 Trans Am/GTA/Firebird/etc have a positive battery cable listed and available, but 1991 has nothing at all listed? Almost everywhere, AC Delco, Autozone, Napa, Rockauto, Advanceautoparts, etc, listings for 1991 show the positive cable either being discontinued, nonexistant or incorrect(listing a 30 inch cable which isn't even half of the length needed) 30 inches is about what the negative cable is though.
Autopartsgiant lists what I believe to be the correct cable, 2SD76X AC Delco number. However it is listed for 1990 and 1992, but not 1991. Course it doesn't help that AC Delco is using an incorrect photo of this, showing it as a generic looking black negative cable. The Standard Motor site and Autopartsgiant shows a similar number for the positive cable(Standard Motor parts number), A76-2D. This number shows that it is also 76 inches and if the rest is similar, has the 2 and D from the AC Delco number.
I ordered 2SD76X and I'm pretty sure it's going to be correct, but it really sucks that noone has a correct listing for a 1991 even though it should be the same as a 90-92. I think even Napa or Autozone or one of em has a whole slew of 30-40 inch positive battery cables listed for a 1991 TA. 30 inches may be close if the battery was on the passenger side, but not even remotely long enough since the battery is on the drivers side from the factory.
As long as the one I ordered is correct, this seems to be a HUGE issue with almost all parts databases. Anyone trying to order this cable, but not thinking to try searching for 90 or 92 is getting the shaft. Also, that method may only work on a few sites as I only tried it only a couple sites.
Does anyone know offhand if the positive cable is 76 inchs from the factory(while I wait for my order to arrive)? At least it will let me know I'm prolly safe and correct in my guessing. It seems to be about that length, although I haven't gotten under the car with a tape measure to check it. I do hope the one I ordered is correct and has the extra leads to the alternator and the splice off for the engine wiring harness.

76 Sounds right. I think thats the least of your problems.
What you might find is that the cable doesnt have all the factory type/style of connections aside of the battery terminal and starter terminal. So.. it will more than likely not be a direct replacement without making some other connections. I cant remember the Standard part numbering system anymore, but I believe the A is terminal type and the 2 is 2 gauge cable, and the D likely denotes if there's an additional pigtail off the terminal end or not. I ran into this same thing on my 86, I have some wacky connectors inline on the cable that the replacement didnt account for so I just repaired what I had and left it.

If the new cable comes at least with one addition wire off the terminal connection end, even an open butt splice like I see on some of the negative cables, I can just easily clip the old cable, strip the end and splice it in without even needing to disconnect the alternator or engine wiring harness plugs. Otherwise, I'll need to purchase a bit of wire and a connector and just place it under the terminal connection when I tighten the cable to the battery. That'd be the least pleasing method though.
