Valve Guides, Seals?
So, I know I have the typical valve guide seal problem. Car sits warm, starts up, smoke. Yea, yea. It happens. I have just been informed that I now smoke on deceleration. That generally means it's my valve guides now. Crap. What can I do on the cheap to fix this? And running Mobile 1 is not a fix, it's a band-aid. I one day wanted to upgrade to a nicer set of heads, but I wanted to be able to save and get a set of AFR 195 Eliminators, or something. Are there any cheap head solutions? (And will any head run fine on a bone stock L98?) Plus, this is my DD, so I can't survive with it being down for very long, if any time at all, so it looks like a head replacement is a better option that machining the current heads. Thanks for any help!

Start by replacing the seals, your valve guides might be in acceptable shape.

Exactly... Change the seals, see where that takes you. Cheap, quick, easy, usually effective.
Of course, don't let me talk you out of a head upgrade.... just, that's not the right reason.
