POPS and SPUTTERS

1991 firebird formula
lo3 305 mx0 Auto trans

THIS THING BARELY RUNS-

it has a new fuel pump, fuel filter, new plugs, wires, cap and rotor....

It starts up easy, but when u give it gas it seems to hesitate, sputter and pop..and once i rev it up to around 2500 it will almost run right.....it will run in the mid RPMs or higher but at a start it almost dies(or it feels like its going to die)

COULD THIS BE A BAD CATALYTICAL CONVERTER? i looked at it, and it a complete pile of garbage....

ANY SUGGESTIONS? INPUT? ( KEEP IN MIND THAT IT HAS ALL BRAND NEW TUNE UP PARTS AND FUEL DELIVERY PARTS)

That doesn't mean anything, seen many a new part be junk. I'd start by checking fuel pressure. Have any trouble codes?

i havent done the diagnostics test yet...but there are no lighrs popping up no SES light


COULD IT BE A RESTRICTED AIRFLOW (LIKE THE CLOGGED UP, RUSTED OUT CAT)

Take off your air cleaner lid and check the spray pattern of the injectors while it's running. My L03 had similar problems a long time ago, and it was the o-rings around the two injectors. Instead of a fine spray or mist, the injectors were just dripping fuel. If you revved the motor up high enough, it would smooth out, but at lower rpms, it was just like when a carbed motor is running too rich and loading up. May not be your culprit, but it wouldn't hurt to check.

TURNS OUT.......it was the COOLANT TEMP SENSOR......THE SES LIGHT STARTED TO COME ON, (it never had before,) SO WE RAN THE CODE. CODE 15...=CTS

it makes sense....it was getting flooded out, at a start, and then would run fine above like 2000 rpm.......

(it was acting like i was 40 below 0: just dumping fuel down it.)

NOW IT RUNS PERFECT!
