Idle/engine acting weird

Hi,

I dont knwo if Ive posted or not here but I have been snooping the forums for a long time. I have an 88 Trnas am GTA 350 ofcourse. When I bought it from my cousin the exhaust was cut off after the cat so it was loud as hell. Ofcourse I loved it but I came across a borla exhaust for a low price and bought it. Normally I do all my own work but after other exhaust jobs I decided 90 bucks was a small price to pay for the full installation. So i gert it back and it sounds great. The firs thing I notice is a large drop in HP and tourque but this was not surprising considering the previous setup was almost strait pipes. So I started it up cold and I instantly noticed the engine was barely hangin on to idle speed. I give it some gas and it roars up and drops back down. I have to keep gas going for a good few minutes before it will idle freely. During these few the motor wants to bog when gas is added. Im very dissapoointed. Also, there is the dreaded engine check ligjht so many people have, that decides to turn on when it wants to. How do i clear the code without disconeecting the battery? No I dont knwo the code but I assume its the intake one because it was a few months ago. A side not is I installed a cold air filter after all the problems started with no noticeable results in preformance or idleing.

Sorry for the extensive list but I really want this problem reso=lved. i dont like seeing my baby suffer (;

Thanks alot for any help

Tucker

It shouldn't. Something happened to cause your problems.

Re: Idle/engine acting weird

not sure if this is related but my 87 iroc has a crate 350 with an edelbrock 750 on it and its seems like maybe when it gets hot it does the same thing idle drops and when i go to take off the car jumps and sometimes dies. sounds like idleing problem but other than this it idles fine. any thoughts?
