flywheel help

I looked under the car and i was able to pull a part number of 14088671 N GM1 off of my flywheel. I want to make sure that i have the right starter for this to avoid any problems. The starter i'm using is a powermaster High torque starter 9600. The starter says it is adjustable for both 168/153 tooth flywheels. Anybody have any idea how many teeth my flywheel has? Also does anyone know how to adjust the starter for either flywheel?Thanx

Re: flywheel help

if you have the stock transmission you have a 153 tooth flywheel... i suppose it would be adjusted by swaping the drive gear...

Re: flywheel help

most starters that ive seen that will work on both the 153 and 168 tooth flywheels, have 2 set of mounting holes. the closer set fo the small the wheel and further set for the larger wheel

That is the was the 9600 is also , 2 sets of holes for 153/168 tooth flywheels/flexplates . it is also clockable for clearance issues .
