Fuel line/exhaust

I ran 1/2 braided line on the passenger side of the driveshaft tunnel almost same location as stock just on the other side. I did this because Im running a carb.Do you think heat from the exhaust will be an issue if I run single exhaust ? I want duels and more than likely I will dump them in front of the axle but if I go the single route will I have problems? I also thought about running the fuel line on the passenger side under the door, seems there is plenty of room for the most part, just getting by the LCA and then past the subframe up front. I have an external pump and filter mounted closer to the passenger side as well.

Re: Fuel line/exhaust

You will most likely not have any problems. But if you get real close to the fuel line with your exhaust, it couldn't hurt to throw up some heat shielding.

Re: Fuel line/exhaust

Sounds good, the closest the fuel line gets is near the front subframe area turning up into the engine bay. I think there is going to be around 1"1/2 or so. I also have some rubber hydraulic lines from the tranny in that same area so I think heat shield, maybe even some wrap around the lines there couldnt hurt.

Wrapping or shielding. The only downside to wrapping is it promotes corrosion of what you wrap due to moisture retention.

In my case (custom dual exhaust) I put up shielding towards the rear of the car. Up front I wrapped the exhaust (stainless piping) and put convoluted tubing on my shift cable. I kept melting the glue in my shift cable.
