fuel from water "HHO generator"

i stumbled on the website http://www.magdrivehydro-gen.com/ and they sell a system that supposedly gives the user a 35-45% increase in fuel economy. somehow it uses baking soda combined with water to create a hydrogen gas, its supposed to be drawn into the engine intake using vaccum hose and air cleaner inlet. i dont know how well this system works but it looks interesting. i wouldnt try this on my camaro first. i would probably try it on my corsica. the system is supposed to come with everything that needed. different systems are available as per engine size. they sell a system for a 4.3-5.0L and one for a 5.2-7.0L engines and a smaller unit for 1.2-4.2L, this would cover every third gen engine ever produced. i dont know if this nonsense but it would be cool to find out and well worth the investment if it doesnt damage your engine. especailly if your car is a daily driver. imagine a 40% increase in fuel economy. my stock 305 gets about 25 MPG highway. if this system worked that would increase highway millage to about 35 MPG. without using this system you would about receive 350 miles to a tank if you only drove highway. add 10 mpg now you would get 550 miles to a tank. at $3/gal regular that works out to a $30/saving per tank. thats really impressive. if you burn just one tank a week in 1 month you would save $120. it would pay for itself in just over 2 months. what do you guys think? fact or fiction? then someone calls you camaro a gas guzzer. what gas guzzler? look at them and laugh.

Re: fuel from water "HHO generator"

I can't see it producing nearly enough hydrogen and oxygen to make a difference.

While you're at it, go get some split fire plugs and wires, a tornado, one of those fuel catalyzers and molecule aligners, and maybe a leaf blower supercharger.

Re: fuel from water "HHO generator"

so its nothing more than a urban legend, a gimmick, and an expensive toy that does nothing useful. not to metion your O2 sensor will increase the fuel mixture when it sees a "lean" condition thus negating any possible fuel savings. more i think about it more i think it doesnt work. somebody came up with a new way to get your money. i think one of this units needs to be tested by "myth busters", it would make for a great episode.

yeah mythbusters. the only gimmick that is a real alternative is the old fry grease one, tested by mythbusters. that one was pretty cool, but yeah while your at it, cut out your floor board and power your car with your feet. yabba dabba doo.

Hey now. Ease off the leaf blower supercharger. It's Dyno proven. Don't make me post the video link again...
(it does have a catchy tune thought (pun intended))
