Need help with a sick 1LE

I'm in need of some advice. I spent Saturday at Road America (Thanks MFBA!!) with my 1991 TA 1LE and had some mechanical problems that need attention. After about 10 total laps, the car stalled out at around 3,000 RPM. It would rev fine in neutral, but once in gear it would cut out at around 3k. It ran fine going home (at 2.5k on the freeway), but if I punched the gas, the car stalled out. Can anyone out there give me an idea of what's going on? I suspect it's computer related but I just don't know where/how to start fixing this problem. Also, can anyone recommend a shop or a mechanic in the SE Wisconsin area (I'm just outside of Madison) who is familiar with the F-bodies and could help me fix this, as well as help me with modifications to make my 1LE a bit more competitive? I don't want to drop it off at the local shop (for Billy-Joe Bubba to hammer on), and, once this is fixed, I'd like to avoid ordering performance parts *****-nilly.....Any help getting me in touch with a 3rd gen go-fast shop would be appreciated. You can reach me direct at kos@smallbytes.net

Re: Need help with a sick 1LE

Sounds like a fuel problem.

What's the fuel pressure WHILE IT'S SCREWING UP? (not while it's just sitting idling in your driveway) Tape your FP gauge to your windshield and replicate the problem, and get some data. Otherewise you're just guessing.

Thanks for the tip sofa....I've changed out the fuel filter thinking that might be it. You're right, I do need some data. Would it be worth picking up a plug in tester and if so what, where, why? Can you tell I'm a newbee wrench-head?

Thanks for the tip.
