Issue with my Tach not reading correctly!
Well, after lots of looking and much help from all you on the forum, my 89, 5.7 Iroc is back on the street and running better than ever with the new fuel injectors. I cant say thanks enough. Now that the main issue is fixed, I want to start working out some of the minor ones. My car seems to idle about right, but the tach says its at 1200. When driving, the tach seems to move correctly, but still at too high of a reading. When I kick it, it obviously jumps way to high because it will go into the redline area immediately. However, once it shifts through the gears and levels out a little, it comes back into normal ranges. What is causing this and is it something I can fix under the hood or do I need to pull the actual tach. Thanks in advance for any help. Bob

That is pretty common with these cars, and as far as I know there isn't much you can do about it, sorry.

Use the search tool, there are a ton of post regarding Tach and all the other gauges not working right. Most people either have thier cluster rebuilt or build thier own custom with aftermarket gauges.
Good luck
