car sat for a year

im thinking about buying a 92 z28 i found in my area for 500 dollars and i was just wondering since the guy who owns it said it sat for a year what really would i be digging my self into? i know i would need to replace all the fluids and drain the tank but is there anything else you guys can think up? it has a rebuilt motor in it with 200 miles on it, just wondering if it was worth my money.thanks.

Re: car sat for a year

umm I would say ya..a 92 for 500 bucks....pocket change. I tend to worry about cars that are for sale when they arnt even broken in yet. 200miles on a rebuild...the car wont even be broken in fully for maybe 10K. So it makes me think that there is something wrong with the motor. How is the body tho. Floor pans would be the first place to check.

It's worth $500 if the body and interior are in good shape. I wouldn't believe anything the guy says regarding the motor, though. Especially if it isn't in running condition.

If the paint is mediocre or better, and there's no rust, go for it.

Ignore the engine, there must be a reason it has only 200 miles on it and the car is $500.
