Oil leak?

After going to the track last night for the first time i came home and found that there was some oil splatter near the snorkles from my air filter housing and around the intake bolts . Well it seems that my Patriot perf. heads have 2 holes on each side next to the intake mounting bolts that since they aren't plugged by a screw or anything were squirting out oil through the thrreaded holes and as the car was running hard the oily stuff was being sucked in somewaht by the air cleaner snorkles. Anyone heard of this ? I'm going to simply plug the holes with screws with sealant on them to stop this but it seems weird. Could these holes be for a vortech style intake and as such should be plugged?

Re: Oil leak?

Vortechs use an entirely different bolt pattern. Where are these holes, exactly?

The picture is good, but knowing exactly what heads they are would still help.

They look like Vortec-style heads with both patterns drilled & tapped. Typically it's better to use a Vortec-specific intake on that type of head.

Re: Oil leak?

as listed in my signature they are Patriot Performance heads from White Perf. and yes they are drilled for both styles. I already had a perf.rpm intake when i got the heads and just re-used it.

Does Patriot Performance only make one head?

Re: Oil leak?

NO several actually but i guess the closest would be these links
http://www.patriot-performance.com/w...03567&DID=1225
and
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PATRI...spagenameZWDVW

the ones from ebay are the exact ones i got . I just didn't know you had to plug up the unused hole and ended up having to simply screw in intake bolts into them with sealant to be sure they dont leak
