HELP WITH IDLE PROBLEM PLEASE
Ive had this car for about 5 years and i rebuilt the engine twice and no matter what i do i cant get my idle to come down,i checked for vaccum leaks and there is none,its lowest idle is at about 1100 fully warmed up and ive tried setting the minimum air,timing,etc any help would b appreciated.

If it's idling that fast the ECM should be setting a code or two.
Pull the codes.
Do a search on IAC (idle air control), it may be stuck or not responding.
The "Hypertech Thermomaster Performance Prom Chip" may be for a different setup and is telling it to idle that fast.
Also, the LT1 cam may not be compatable with the TPI setup on a 5.0 motor.

Its not setting off any codes and it idled this high before i did anything to it and the iac is brand new and it pushes the pintle out when doin the minimum air rate and the chip is for 86 305 tpi with automatic,i got it from summit,ive done everything ,im stumped ,any other suggestions?thanks for the reply

How'd you check for vacuum leaks? Listening? Propane?
I had a vacuum leak that no method found until I used carb cleaner. Dangerous, yes, but I found the leak. I didn't have any starting fluid. Surprisingly to me the engine bogged when I found the leak.
A fire extinguisher must also be handy.
You could also start pulling hoses and plugging them with your finger/thumb. The car should still run even with the PCV and or brake booster vacuum lines disconnected.
Also, what's your TPS set at?
