Ouch.

I'm surprised they didn't inspect the heads PRIOR to running them and having problems- especially since the problems were apparently obvious by eye. I know that if I'm laing down 4 figures on heads I inspect them out the wazoo before bolting them onto the motor. Chamber sizes, valve seats, valves, springs, guides, etc. I fully disassemble the head and measure everything prior to using it. I have to admit I've never cc'ed the intake ports on my heads but I will after reading this article!

You'd be surprised what you find on even good quality heads. I'll mention in passing that AFR's spring specs are out to lunch, in my opinon (usually higher pressures than advertised and by a fair bit). Had several sets now- springs never match the specs, although their installed height is usually *****-on spec. Plus they use crappy quality seals, although I will admit I've not had a problem becuase of it.
