Does Anyone Know What This Is?

Attached is a picture of a black plastic electrical plug attached to the passenger side firewall. I'm having a lot of trouble with my trans am running too rich (smells like gas, misses and has no power) when it warms up and noticed that this plug looks to be melted. Anyone know what it does or what would cause it to melt? Thanks!

Re: Does Anyone Know What This Is?

All of that is in the HVAC system.

The red & black wires go to the blower motor, and the green one goes to the compressor.

Sounds like you have a fouled spark plug or a wasted spark plug wire.

Re: Does Anyone Know What This Is?

If either plugs or wires are bad, would it be possible for car to run OK when it is cold (first start it), but act up when warm OR would the car run poorly all the time?
