357 with 200cc heads

My current motor is a 357ci with flat top pistons (10:1), forged crank, PM rods, 462 ported/blended & 2.02/1.60 valve'd heads, Torker 2 intake, 650 DP, Torker cam (232/234 @.050 .488/.488 108LSA). My heads are pretty much a bottle neck on any sort of power so I was thinking of using ported out Sportsman 2 heads with an XE284 cam. Refresh the bottom end and keep the single plane. I'd want the around the same C/R. Any thoughts? Obviously with this big of a head I will loose a little bottom end but I'd rather have a bit more top end. I'll be upgrading the valve train as well with some good stuff. Just wanted to get some thoughts and/or suggestions on other parts or certain parts. Thanks.

Also, the car will have a WCT5 and 3.70 gears. I was told with 3500 stall and 3.73 gears this car would run 12's. I somehow doubt that given the nature of these heads but who knows. Anyone shed some light on that? If you want a list of other mods, go to my cardomain page.

Get rid of that intake and you shouldn't have any trouble running 12's. A Performer RPM would be highly superior, but if you really, really want a single plane, at least get a Victor Jr.

With my current setup I can run 12's without that intake? Really? I have a Edelbrock RPM Air gap but I was going to use it on the other combo.

If the tires stick and the T5 doesn't grenade.

That cam isn't the best either, but the Torker II manifold is a bigger restriction than your heads. Edelbrock should be for foisting that thing on the public.

"I was told with 3500 stall and 3.73 gears..." If you have a T-5 you don't need to worry about stall speed. That references a torque convert which you don't have.

I was told this when the car had the auto still in it. I guess I'll throw the Air gap on the motor and see what happens before I change the top end. The cam isn't big, I agree with you but I don't know how much my heads can take. I was thinking of using 1.6 rockers.
