Balancer and flexplate for ZZ4

I just bought a new zz4 shortblock with 1 piece rear main seal.

I now learn that this motor is externally balanced. I realize that I need the proper flexplate.

Will a fluid damper from a pre 86 350 work?

The damper that gm lists for the zz4 is the same as used in z/28s and L82 and LT1 engines. This leads me to believe that I can reuse my balance that was on an internally balanced engine.

Please comment.

Please, let's not start this again.

One-piece rear main seal flexplates/flywheels have a weight. This weight takes the place of a built-in weight on two-piece rear main seal cranks. This does not make one-piece rear main cranks "externally balanced", it makes them "one-piece rear main seal".

Just get a flexplate for one-piece rear main seal crank applications.

The harmonic damper is neutral balanced, just like every factory SBC damper except 400's.
