Do any damage to the engine. Right now my car once it warms up enough will idle very low. Somewhere between 350-450rpms. It almost dies on me but it wont. I been trying to figur out the problem. But no use. I have also realized that my torque converter is shot. And when the torqu converter acts up, so does my horrible idle. Any relationship between the two?

The TCC doesn't get any hydraulic pressure in 1st gear or neutral/park, so it's not likely that's the problem.

A TC with a problem could very well be the problem. The biggest issue about that isn't the engine, it's what you may be circulating around in your transmission because of the bad TC.

 

Alright, but let me get this straight. The low idle could be because of the tc? or you said no it isnt.

 

I said it couldn't be because of the TCC lock-up solenoid or circuit.

It could be because of a bad torque converter.

 

Thanks alot five. I have been going absolutely nuts trying to fix my tps, IAC, ignition and everything. Trying to figure out what may be going on. Now I'm not gonna waste time and see what a new TC will do. At least it will help my lockup probblem
