oil pressure gauge question

oil pressure gauge question

with just the ignition on not the engine on

im readin 13psi on the oil gauge.

is the ok or is my digital dash screwing up?

it get around 53 when idling i believe.

Disconnect the wire from the sending unit, and short it to ground with an alligator clip lead. Should read zero.

If it does, the gauge is OK; and you need a new sending unit.

If it reads 13 psi, your gauge is farkled.

53 psi at idle, hot, is not right. You DEFINITELY have a gauge system issue of some sort.

I'd be expecting that it's the sending unit.

Ignition on not running, 0.

Hot idling, maybe 20-30 psi.
