Unplugged IAT Sensor

I have a 87 305 TPI. I have the IAT on the air box, but there is no wire for it anywhere. According to my chilton manual, it should be on the rear drivers side of the plenum, but there's nothing there. Is it somewhere else, and this is the wrong airbox? Or did some moron remove the wiring for it? My motor is running rich and I'm wondering if this could be a cause.

It should be on the bottom of plenum, maybe someone moved it. The connector is behind the distributor.
