Taking off the air filter and blowing the dirt out, regaping spark plugs, tire inflation, adjusting timing, etc.

Ya, sure. Just like those magazine budget rebuilds where they just happen to use a set of used Brodix heads that were just sitting on the shelf with Jesel rockers on them.

 

what kind of free mods can i do to my 86 iroc 350 tpi auto to make it run better? It runs good but I think it should run better..... Timing.... plugs....I dont know how to Tune it.. Im new to the TPI motors. I used to have an 87 Iroc with tpi 350, but never had to work on it until I washed the engine at the car wash. It never ran with the tuned Port again. This time Im a little more patient.

 

HAHA, thats great... You never know, sometimes theres a buddy upgrading to something bigger, and will give you what he had for cheap, or free. I wasnt referring to something like heads, but maybe certain tuning parts like carb jets, or an aluminum intake.

As for tuning, try the DIY Prom section.

 

Try these if you haven't already;
- Throttle body coolant bypass (if you don't live in Alaska, TN would prob be ok lol).
- Cut out the bottom of the airbox (both sides under the filters).
- Weight deduction (strip the fluff!)
- De-screen MAP.

All these have a minimal effect (except the weight reduction if you do enough of it), but one could argue that they all add up.

Yea. My friend is giving me free stuff. is that called mods like getting a 350 turbo transmission for my camaro with the fly wheel and conversion hook ups. also getting a/c pump and compressor for free?

 

You mean MAF, MAP doesnt have a screen
