coil wire sparking everywhere?

coil wire sparking everywhere?
Just did a tbi to carb swap.
The car started right up, but the power wire coming from the coil started arc'ing off of everything like crazy. Im using a vaccumm advance distributor with a coil in the cap.
The wire is arc'ing where the coil wire goes through the cap for the two plugs to hook in.
Should i just wrap it in electrical tape? or is that just covering up a problem somewhere? Or maybe the coil i bought had a bad wire?
