1991 camaro rs 305

I am doing a motor swap from a 91 camaro rs to an 85 ta. I bought the camaro and was trying to start the motor to make sure it runs okay before I pull it and it won't even turn over. The shifter has been removed, would that cause it to not turn over?

yes. You need to connect 2 of the wires that went to the neutral saftey switch.. its been a while but I believe they are as follows purple and a green with a white tracer. They are both large gauge wires..
