Fuel Stabilizer Question

Hey guys. I parked my camaro in storage a little over 2 years ago now. Never planned on leaving it that long. I didnt put any fuel stabilizer or anything like that in it.

Next year when i get it over to my house i am going to be doing a 350 swap. My question as i am unfamiliar with this is, will not putting in fuel stabilizer mess up the tank and lines? Will all the fuel delivery components need to be replaced?

Re: Fuel Stabilizer Question

hmm two years it should be OK, any more than that i might drain it, but most guys just add a bottle of octane boost to it and its fine.

Re: Fuel Stabilizer Question

I'd drain it, change the filter, and flush the lines if it were my car. Besides the gas turning to varnish by now, the tank has surely picked-up water from condensation. Why run that crap though a new motor?

I would never run the old gas through the new motor. I guess what i am trying to find out is would i need to get a new fuel tank and lines or is just flushing the old gas out good enough?

No way to tell without looking. Was the tank full (less condensation)?
