Car broke down!

I was driving to college today and my car started to rock back and forth when it would shift... almost like it would cut in and out. Later on my way back from college the car would not accelerate over 45-50 and it was getting hotter by the minute, it was also being extremely loud (almost as if it was reved up all the way, even though it wasn't) so i decided that i would pull over and let it cool down and try to start it again her in a little bit. Well the car started fine but as soon as i put it into drive and would slowly accelerate (probably get going 3-4 mph) and then it would die and the whole engine would cut off. I started it up again but it kept doing the same thing. Does anybody know what is wrong with my car --> 1990 Camaro I-ROC Z.

Re: Car broke down!

first verify that your getting spark

if you are, but the car dies after getting hot, check spark then.

If u do have it, look else where

If u dont have it, Most likely in this case its the ignition module, it is the little plastic module under the dist. cap held on by 2 screws and has 2 connectors u can get them tested at most auto parts stores. there aprox 50-60$ to replace
