Ok wheres my fuel regulator and how do i test it?

I posted up a thread yesterday but it pretty much died lol, i need to know where my fuel regulator is because i was told in my last thread it may be the issue and i also explained my situation to my instructor and he said fuel regulator right off the bat

So.....

1. Where is it?
2. What does it do (ignorant but i want a definite explaination)
3. What may have caused it to go out
4. How do i test it????

Fuel Pressure Regulator is on the backside and part of the TBI. To test pressure you need to cut and splice the feed line to install a gauge.

yeah so if i'm understanding this right, and putting logical thinking into place, i should FP test at the fuel filter and use that as my control variable, that psi should be up at the throttle body, so if i test it up front and the psi is lower then my reg is bad?

Re: Ok wheres my fuel regulator and how do i test it?

not necessarily it depends on what pressure the regulator is set at,if you have 10 psi between the regulator and throttle body the regulator is probably fine.later jimmy

Factory regulators are normally set at around 8-9 PSI. They're also sealed (welded) so you can't adjust them. Replacing it with an adjustable regulator, you can pump the pressure up to 12-13 psi.
