Looking To Buy A Third Gen, Want To Fortify For Reliability
Hey guys, after being away from third gens since I was 17 (now 23), I am trying to get rid of my Silverado SS (and its huge payment!).
I will be looking for an L98 GTA. Now that my means are much better than my minimum wage funded budget of years past, I want to make sure the car runs good and reliably before going to mod it. Here is a list of things I have thought of so far to replace. I call it preemptive maintenance.
Thermostat
Alternator
Battery
Starter
Water Pump
Plugs/Wires
Flush all fluids
Replace all filters
New Brakes
I know there is probably alot I am missing, so feel free to add to the list. Also, suggest anything that would be an upgrade instead of just a replacement. Example, I have heard good things about alternators from Ohio Generator, so i may go that route.
Thanks guys!

Re: Looking To Buy A Third Gen, Want To Fortify For Reliability
Cap & rotor
Cat (so you can reliably license it)
Clean the IAC & TB
Injector cleaning
Tires
Springs & shocks (although that's not a matter of "reliability", strictly speaking)
Sway bar bushings & end links (as above)
Trans mount
I wouldn't "pre-emptively" change the alt, myself; but that's just me.
First mod: SFCs

Dont just get another $6 rubber one. I had one last me just about a month, the other less than 12 minuets. Buy poly from summit.
