Fuel residue in intake/head ports

Fuel residue in intake/head ports

What do you guys know about residue left behind in ported and polished intakes and heads? I just pulled my intake and found red residue left behind from the VP racing fuel I run.

They probably don't put any detergents in racing gas. When it evaporates it leaves the red dye behind. It's similar to the black stuff found in stock engines that run cheap gasoline...
...and the reason polishing intake runners is a big waste of time.
