I've recently bought myself a 91 RS Camaro with the TBI V8, generally pretty happy with the car. Though as with buying any second hand car theres always problems! One of the most puzzling is this; when driving along and give it a bit of a gas, sometimes get a slight jolt and the revs drop sharply and then back again! Looking at the forum its seems it could be one of a few things including, spark plugs ignition coil, distributer. Or possibly fuel filter/pump or injectors and tb. Or maybe even the auto trans is slipping so that could be the torque converter. Is there anyway to narrow those down without checking it. The car is pretty good knick with very little rust but has been sat around for a while. Another problem is that is doesnt like cold starts have to give it some gas usually, starts fine when warm.

Any ideas would be appreciated, looking to put this on a drag strip when its in better shape!

check your map sensor, mine was doing it and i replaced my fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, distributor, wires and plugs, plus i pressured my lines to make sure they were clear. Turned out to be my map sensor, find someone with a good one and swap it out and give it a run

 

I agree with master_disaster, the same thing happended to me. I don't mean to intrude but, I'm in the process of getting out of third gen f bodys and have a ton of used/left over/ new parts and if your looking to buy a near new inexpensive MAP sensor I have one for sale. It's a Wells unit, part number SU105, it was used for about 50 miles and goes for $40 at autozone. Since I have no use for it, and you more than likely need one I'll sell for $10 + shipping.
